About me

Claire Moreno Garden Design

For more than ten years I have been designing gardens that balance beauty with practicality, drawing on both design expertise and horticultural knowledge. I enjoy working closely with clients from initial ideas through to the final design, helping them understand why their garden may not be working and finding creative, sustainable solutions — whether that’s improving the layout, choosing the right hard landscaping, or refining plant selections. I’ve loved collaborating with clients on a wide range of projects and am proud that much of my work has come through their recommendations.

I trained in Garden Design at the ‘Garden Design School’ at Painshill Park in Surrey passing with distinction and have an RHS certificate in Horticulture.

My journey from Project Manager in the Media Industry to Garden Designer started with the  Women’s Farm and Garden Association‘s WRAGS scheme and I was lucky enough to spend a wonderful year training in the extensive gardens of Belmont House near Faversham in Kent under their head gardener Graeme Watts. As well as developing my horticultural knowledge and practical gardening skills, working in their 3 acre walled garden designed by Lady Arabella Lennox-Boyd, taught me to appreciate the difference a beautifully designed garden can make, sparking an interest and passion in design which ultimately led to me becoming a designer myself.

I am fully insured and a pre-registered member of The Society of Landscape and Garden Designers, the only professional organisation promoting Garden Designers and ethical standards of practice.
